Regeneration of Iveco Irisbus and Solaris Urbino injectors – Cursor 8 and Cursor 13 engines

Professional regeneration of Common Rail injectors for Iveco Irisbus Crossway, Daily Bus, Evadys and Solaris Urbino buses with Cursor 8 (F2BE) and Cursor 13 (F3AE/F3BE) engines. Bosch and Delphi numbers, EPS 815 test, 12 months warranty.

Common Rail injectors in Iveco and Solaris buses – specifics of the system

Iveco is one of the main suppliers of drives for European bus manufacturers. The Cursor 8 (6-cylinder, 7.8 l) and Cursor 13 (6-cylinder, 12.9 l) engines power not only Irisbus buses (later called Iveco Bus), but also PolishSolariss - one of the most recognizable city buses in Poland, exported to over 30 countries.

The Common Rail fuel system in these engines operates at a pressure of up to 1,600 bar (Cursor 8 Euro 4/5) and up to 1,800 bar (Cursor 13 Euro 5/6). The injectors are mainly Bosch CRI2 and CRI3, in older vehicles (Euro 3) - Bosch CRIN1 or Delphi CR. Regeneration requires equipment calibrated for specific types and catalog numbers.

Solaris Urbino based on Iveco Cursor engines is one of the most popular buses in Poland - used by dozens of MZK, MPK and ZTM throughout the country. A-Core's experience in regenerating injectors for these vehicles translates directly into the availability of quick service for Polish carriers.

Symptoms of injector damage in Crossway, Urbino and Daily Bus

The most common symptoms of injection system wear

  • Increased back-leak – visible after connecting the return beakers; standard: less than 1.5 ml/min per cylinder
  • Unequal idle speed – ECU corrects the dose, tachometer fluctuations by ±50 rpm
  • White smoke on cold start – leaking nozzle allows fuel to leak out of cycle
  • Black smoke at full load – injection time too long or nozzle seat damaged
  • No good cold start – too low starting dose due to worn needle
  • Error codes in Iveco EASY / Solaris DiagPro – indication of a specific cylinder or rail pressure
  • Clear increase in fuel consumption – in Solaris buses monitored by ZTM telematics systems

Regeneration of Cursor injectors - service procedure

Diagnostics and entry test

Each injector from the Cursor engine goes to a Bosch EPS 815 testing table equipped with software for the CRI2 and CRI3 types used by Iveco. The input test includes: dose at start-up, idle and full load, back-leak and solenoid valve opening time. The results are recorded with the injector serial number.

Disassembly and inspection under clean conditions

Cursor engines use injectors with CRIN (Bosch) or EVI (Delphi) class control valves. Disassembly is carried out on an air filtration station. We check the needle clearance (standard: below 1.5 μm), the condition of the nozzle seat and the sealing surface of the control valve, the resistance of the solenoid valve winding and the condition of the inlet filters.

Component replacement and calibration

We use Bosch repair kits (series F 00V C99 002 to F 00V C99 006 for CRI2/CRI3) and original Delphi kits for EJBR. Calibration after assembly is performed with an accuracy of 1 μm by selecting appropriate spacers for the firing pin spring.

Post-test and documentation

Each regenerated injector undergoes the same test as the pre-test. Acceptance only for results within a tolerance of ±2% of the Iveco/Bosch nominal values. The customer receives a printout of the report from both tests (pre and post) with the serial number, date and technician's signature.

Supported Iveco and Solaris bus models

Solaris Urbino in Poland – why injector service is so important

Solaris Urbino is one of the most frequently used buses in Polish cities - hundreds of them in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Katowice and dozens of smaller towns. Intensive urban use (200-250 thousand km per year) means that the injectors require the first regeneration after 4-6 years or after600,000-800,000 km. A-Core Diesel Serwis offers a shipping service for municipal transport companies from all over the country - quick implementation and service documentation required by the technical departments of ZTM and MPK.

Frequently asked questions - FAQ

Are the injectors from Solaris Urbino 12 Euro 5 and Euro 6 the same?

No. Euro 5 uses CRI2-16 (0 445 120 106), Euro 6 – CRI3-20 (0 445 126 049). These are different generations of Bosch with different control valves and calibration codes. We always identify the type based on the engine number and year of production of the vehicle.

How long does it take to regenerate a complete set of 6 Cursor 13 injectors?

Standard delivery time is 3-5 business days from delivery of the injectors. In the case of express service (fleet, priority order), we are able to shorten this time to 2 business days - please contact us by phone in advance.

Are the Cursor 8 injectors from Solaris and the Iveco Eurocargo truck the same?

In many cases, yes - the F2BE3682 Cursor 8 engine is installed in both Solaris and Iveco Eurocargo. The injector catalog numbers are the same, which allows us to service both types of vehicles with a common stock of service parts.

Can you handle a framework agreement with the municipal transport company?

Yes - we are open to concluding a service contract with ZTM, MPK, MZK or private operators. Conditions: priority implementation time, constant pre/post documentation, dedicated technical supervisor. Please contact us regarding the offer.
